There's an old expression that goes something like this: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That may not be an exact quotation, but it makes the point. For several days, I've been keeping up with a panic among extreme elements of the right wing over the likelihood Walnuts might have enough Repub support to become their nominee. Today, James Dobson has added his voice to the chorus. It's hard to single out one of the mediavangelists as absolutely THE most repulsive, but in my book, Dobson would get the nod.
It wasn't so long ago the VRWC was ready to cancel Willard's invitation to the prom because of his relatively recent conversion to the orthodoxy and more important, his affiliation with a religion the Baptists consider a cult. Those were the days when Ferd was still believed to be The Great White Hope, and Walnuts wasn't registering on the radar. In a measurement of just how much Walnuts is despised by the opinion-shapers in his own party, Willard has now assumed the role of The Next Coming of Reagan. In reality, they don't love Willard, it's just that they really, really hate Walnuts.
The Republicans are like a crocodile in a clown costume: If they weren't so dangerous, they'd be funny.
