Finally, the truth

The so-called precedent (sic), under attack by Democrats and the liberal media, finally decided to speak honestly from the heart, and made his first truthful statement since announcing he would run for president in 2016.

Well, not really... it's The Onion.

AlterNet explains where things really stand, and it's pretty bad.

Oh sweet Jesus, I repent...

Internet snark

Shitt Romney. I saw that in a reader comment on some blog. It may be a usage that's making the rounds, but I hadn't come across it before. I wish I'd been the first one to think of it, though.

Today's Palin injection

I wonder how long it'll take this internet rumor to circle the globe 150 times ?

Added 9:38 pm, same day: And because things can't be all Sarah, all the time, here's a link to a really good piece by Newsweek's Jonathan Alter on why we need to quit screwing around with these changes to the health care system.

Time-saving conveniences

Thanks to Wonkette, I jumped links to this website. In the midst of economic crisis and chaos, it's great to see the Democrats having a little fun. Way to go, guys.

Apparently there are roughly 14 million people who listen to Lardass on a fairly regular basis. For the sake of argument, I'll assume that about one million of those are people like me who tune in out of boredom when they're out in their cars, and the other 13 million are the true dittoheads who buy into everything that fat fuck is selling. In other words, there aren't enough dittoheads to win an election by themselves, but there are enough to guarantee a Republican defeat if they stay home on election day. That's the only reason I can see for GOP officials like Steele to crawl around for Limbaugh like stomped dogs.

Two down...

Watched most of tonight's debate from Nashville. The most chilling moment for me was when Speedo, referring to some pork-laden Senate bill, said, "You know who voted for it ? You might never know it. That one." Gesturing toward Obama. You could almost hear "That n-" in his tone of voice.

I've thought since the beginning that it would only be a matter of time until Ace or someone close to him slipped and uttered the dreaded N-word, and tonight he came right up to the edge. The old man has definitely taken a turn toward outright creepiness. Falin gets slutty, Speedo gets creepy, and I get nervous. The next four years are gonna be a bitch if this keeps up.

Added 5:30 pm, Wednesday 8 October:

In an earlier post on a sibling blog, I wrote my observation that when an old man and a bright younger man start mixing it up in a discussion, the younger man has real advantages. I know this to be true since I argue a lot, and in some arguments I'm the younger man and in others I'm the old man. Ace (or McAnus as my sis calls him) moved into cryptkeeper territory with his "that one" remark last night, but people on the other side are just too fast for him.
