Eco-NO-mics
Another item on the list of Things I Just Don't Get:
During the eight years of Bush/Cheney/Rove, every time the stock market went up it was hailed by the media as a clear sign that the economy was booming, conservative Republican policies were working, and W got the credit. Now the storyline is that Obama is destroying the American way of life all by himself, and if the stock market goes up, it's totally meaningless. Forgive my confusion, but I don't get it.
And who said there's no good news this morning ? It always cheers me up when things go wrong for this lardass.

The John McCain Curse on America
It seems like every time I turn around, this hole is getting newspaper coverage. And if it isn't Sam the Plumber, it's this bimbo.
On separate planets in terms of gender and physical appearance, the skinhead and Wondermom do have two things in common. First, they are both ignorant as hell and when they start running their mouths about political issues, everyone laughs at them except other people who are even more ignorant.
Second, they're both publicity hounds. A year ago, no one knew who the hell they were or cared. Then, thanks to Ace McCain, they started getting press coverage. Now Sam and Sarah are like two junkies, hooked on attention and never able to get enough. It says a lot about the news media that they're always available whenever Sam and Sarah start banging pots.
The country will be better off if these two ever learn to STFU.

Billy's pissed
To paraphrase an old television ad, a day without Palin is like a day without sunshine. The Vanity Fair article about Wondermom has created an internet sensation, and I've bookmarked it to be read later, when I can concentrate on each vivid detail. The slime-sucker who was instrumental in pushing this bimbo into the national spotlight is furious that the object of his obsession is being trashed (again). All that stuff about financial bailouts, Supreme Court nominations, Iranian elections, and national health care is really pretty boring compared to the latest Wondermom sighting.

Flashback
When it comes to people who fell into buckets of shit and came up with roses in their teeth, the subject of this article may be at the top of the list. In all the excitement since last November, I almost forgot about the Wasilla Wondermom and Joe the Dumber Plumber. I'll have to stop ridiculing Joe because while I was nodding off, he's apparently become a constitutional scholar, political analyst, and theologian, with answers to complex questions of the day. It must be true because he's now being interviewed by important religious publications so his learned views can be spread all over the internet like fertilizer spread upon a pasture.
I came across this bilge courtesy of a link at the Dallas News editorial page, where the article was classified as a MUST-READ online opinion piece. Jeeeeez.
Closing question from the interview was if Joe had plans to run for elected office. Here's the response:
Not right now. God hasn't said, "Joe, I want you to run." I feel more important to just encourage people to get involved, one way or another. If I can inspire some leaders, that would be great. I don't know if I want to be a leader.
Maybe someday God will say, "Joe, give up this bullshit and get back to trying to be the very best plumber you can be. That's all I need from you."
That would fall into the category of A Blessing from God, assuming Joe listened to Him.

Just wait a darned minute...
It started last night during the television postgame analysis, and it's continuing at the RW blogs today. The conservative message being pushed is that Speedo did much better than he had any right to expect, considering W's job approval rating and the economic meltdown.
Let's take a deep breath here: Speedo was running against a black dude whose middle name is Hussein, for crying out loud. The miracle is not that Speedo got his share of the vote, it's that Obama got his. The national BSR * going into the election was 49.28 percent, meaning that Speedo only needed to pick up about two percent to win at least the popular vote, and probably the whole thing.
* Basic Stupidity Rate
