The French word for today

The French word of the day is merde (rhymes with scared). The only German word I know is schadenfreude, and the only French word I know is merde. One of many reasons I haven't been to Europe.

You probably know the word already. If not, I'll give you a hint: it's a cussword used to express anger or disgust.

I used to like to say merde, but we went through a period in this country where if you were overheard saying something in French, you could be arrested as a terrorist and locked up indefinitely.
