Please, help me.
In the world I want to live in, Rafael (Ted) Cruz begging Donnie Jack Crack for help would be the kiss of death for Cruz in November. Our national goals should be making Donnie Jack a pariah, and purging Congress of Republicans like Rafael Cruz.

Another Ted WTF moment
Rafael Cruz, who prefers to be known as Ted, attacked his Democratic opponent for using the nickname Beto. Rafael, like all conservative Republicans, completely lacks anything resembling self-awareness. Put this on the list as reason number 48,296 to hope Rafael (Ted) is forcibly deported to Cuba or someplace like it.

The Cruz Curse
Rafael (Ted) Cruz is not only ugly and personally repulsive, he doesn't know shit about how health insurance works. There are only a few states that would elect this oily huckster to a Senate seat, and unfortunately, Texas is one of them.
Added 3:38 PM Sunday 16 July: We now have official confirmation from Tom Price of something we believed all along. The Senate version of Trump Care is basically nothing more than letting insurance companies operate the same way they did before the Affordable Care Act was passed.

Reimbursement
Some people think Rafael (Ted) Cruz should refund his Senate salary since he spent most of the past year running for president instead of handling the duties he was theoretically elected to perform.
There are no positive outcomes to be had here. We can either pay Eduardo to swan around the country, pretending to be the Face of God for yahoos, assholes and rednecks, or we can pay him to participate in Senate affairs. Overall, he probably does less damage to America when he's prissing for trailer trash.
The only way we won't be wasting money on this con artist is by dismissing the motherfucker from public service altogether. Given that at least 51 percent of Texas voters are worthless imbeciles, we can scratch that option.

Random Thoughts (Post-Indiana)
Eduardo (Ted) Cruz told everyone who'd listen that the Indiana primary was the last chance for God's people to ward off the threat of Trump. It didn't work, and now he gone.
Trump sucks ass, but Cruz is even worse. That's amazing. I didn't think it was possible until I saw it for myself.
Opinions are divided at this stage. Will Trump win a landslide victory in November, or be crushed in a landslide defeat? Here's what seems likely to me:
Trump is a creation of the media, particularly television. Unlimited free media coverage made his campaign possible. The media made Trump, and the media has the ability to destroy him. This party is just getting started.
Trump can't win in November with his current voters. He'll need to win over people who haven't voted in a Republican primary to win in the Electoral College.
If he gravitates to the middle of the road, he risks losing the conservatives who love him because in their dreams, he's just as insane as they are.
Conservatives who promise a landslide win base the forecast on polls showing voters are in a bad mood. In reality, Trump and Cruz don't appeal to every American who's dissatisfied with current affairs. That would include people like me, who are totally fed up with the conservative movement, the tea party, and Republicans in general.
Trump and Cruz appeal to a particular segment of the Disgruntled American Voter population (mostly people who blame everything on Obama), and they've fought over those voters for months. Millions of other voters see Trump and Cruz as the problem, not the solution.
Have we finally seen the last of Cruz? Probably not. Tomorrow, Eduardo will have two items on his to-do list. First, pray to God that Trump is annihilated in November. Second, check on air fare to New Hampshire and Iowa. This chum bucket's entire existence is devoted to a relentless pursuit of political power. He's only interested in Senate membership as a way to keep himself on cable news shows, and he's already thinking ahead to 2020.

Crime and Punishment
Since conservative Republicans believe that abortion should be forbidden anywhere, at any time, for any reason, the only thing that's up for discussion is whether the woman who obtains an abortion should be charged with a felony, or whether women and their doctors should both be charged.
Welcome to life in Ted Cruz's America.

Rafael's Rural, Reactionary, Religious Republicans
A letter to the editor from a guy named Fred in one of the larger Texas newspapers discussed the presidential campaign, post-Iowa caucus. I posted this reply:
"Fred ~~~~ makes a point that Rafael (Ted) Cruz, who has focused his campaign almost exclusively on appeals to conservative evangelical Christians, should prosper in the southeastern states that hold primaries on Super Tuesday.
Are southern states dominated by religious fundamentalists because the people are largely rural and reactionary, or is it the other way around? Are they backward because of their religious beliefs, or are they religious because they're backward? In either case, the percentages indicate that there may be enough rural, reactionary, religious Republicans to help Rafael win the party nomination. What is less certain is whether there are enough of them outside the former Confederacy to win a national election."

Pulverize the s.o.b.
As long as Ted Cruz (rhymes with red ooze) was 20-30 percentage points behind him in GOP popularity polls, Donnie Trump was content to allow Ted to play the part of his miniature poodle. He'd smile when Ted looked up at him with wet, loving eyes and begged to lick his cheek.
That display was sickening. There'll be a lot more entertainment value in watching Trump savage that goddamned Canadian interloper.

E for Effort
Rafael Cruz now has two positive accomplishments in his political career:
- When compared to Cruz, John Cornyn looks relatively sensible and statesman-like.
- When compared to Cruz, Jeb Bush looks like a moderately viable GOP nominee in 2016.

Listen Up
If god wants me to start paying attention, he needs to stop speaking through people like Rafael Cruz and Danny (Goeb) Patrick.

Online Wisdom
The following was copied from an online comment board. I wish I had thought of it myself. The topic is Ted Cruz being liked in his home state:
"It's like the invasion of Iraq. The more popular an idea is in Texas, the more pain and suffering it causes throughout the rest of the world."

Schlub
The whole state of Texas got a screwing when tea party Republicans elected Rafael Cruz to the U.S. Senate. That ass wipe is in way over his head, and now, even some Republicans are calling him an amateur. If we're lucky, there will be a massive erosion in Rafael's support, and he'll spend the remainder of his term on the sidelines while the other Senators ignore his existence.

Juggernaut
Reading the Texas newspapers, I get the impression that a Ted Cruz juggernaut is forming among the Goofy Old People. It's still three years until the next presidential election, but already that sleazy POS is thought of as a frontrunner for the Grumpy Old People nomination. The tea people love him. What would be the outcome if Republicans decide to go Cruzing? An article in The Daily Beast suggests a possibility.

Ted and Taxes
Ted Cruz has a new gimmick: abolishing the Internal Revenue Service. Ted learned last year there's no price to be paid
at the polls for outrageous, inflammatory statements and conduct; in fact,
Republican voters demand them. All a conservative needs to do to win elections
in Texas is memorize some essential code words and a short list of hot-button
issues. Blowing a few dog whistles and voter ignorance will take care of the rest.
