As the election draws nearer and President Bush's time in office is almost finished, I cannot help but feel sympathy towards the man.
Eight long years he has listened to our criticism and handled it with grace. Eight years he has done the best he possible (sic) could to lead this country. He might have made some mistakes, but we can't say we wouldn't have made any either. I can't help but feel that we have successfully beaten this man down with our hate.
Whether or not we like or agree with President Bush's policies is irrelevant. He is still our president and deserves our respect. For the past eight years, I have watched Americans disrespect the man they elected into office. It sometimes makes me lose faith in humanity.

I came across this letter in today's Dallas paper, and now I'm unsure. Should I feel guilty for being mean to W, or should I laugh at what a numbskull Lauren is ?
