In the absence of anything constructive to do, I spent an hour today online, checking out reader feedback on the Supreme Court decision regarding the ACA. As expected, the right-wing lunatic fringe is proclaiming the death of America as we've known it. Of course, to one degree or another, they've been predicting the end of American civilization since the night Obama won the election, and have been caterwauling and pulling their hair out since he was inaugurated in 2009.
Some RWers are down on Chief Justice Roberts. I imagine any support he loses among the lunatic fringe will be more than offset by the new respect he'll gain among sane people. Speaking for myself, I'll need to reevaluate all my assumptions about him. It'd be great if he turned out to be an unpredictable swing vote in future high-profile USSC rulings.
