From the "How Your U.S. Lawmakers Voted" feature in the Monday newspaper:
- The House passed a bill (HR-3309) making it more difficult for the FCC to regulate the U.S. telecommunications industry.
- The House defeated a bill to protect password secrecy for access to social-media sites such as Facebook. The bill would have authorized the FCC to prevent firms it regulates from obtaining worker passwords as a condition of employment.
- The House refused to require public disclosure of individuals contributing $10,000 or more to fund television and radio political ads.
- Of course, the House passed the Republican budget for FY 2013, and all the tax cuts and spending cuts that involves. Probably no chance it survives in the Senate, but it was intended as pure symbolism anyway.
