A suspect outcry

The Chronicle carried a column by Leonard Pitts this morning in which he contends that racial prejudice is not the only reason the Tea Party movement exists, but that Obama's race was the last straw for many teapeople, the one that pushed them over the edge. It's a reasonable argument, and some of the comments that follow the column seem to prove his case. Methinks they doth protest too much, isn't that how the old expression goes ? I can't prove it, but what I see and read causes me to believe that for every teabagger who's only in the game because he hates high taxes and government spending, there's one who's mainly in the game because that N pisses him off. Call it a hunch.
