Gramm crackers

Phil Gramm, formerly of TAMU and the US Senate, expressed his opinion that this country has become a nation of whiners, and has been catching hell for it. This time, there's a logical explanation. Phil spends most of his time hanging out with other Republicans, who are notorious for their constant whining. Being exposed to that, it'd be easy to make an erroneous generalization about the whole f-ing country instead of just the part he knows a little bit about. So cut the guy some slack.

Added later Friday 11 July: As they always do, the scales are at least temporarily coming back into balance. On flip-flops (politically convenient position changes), Barry and Ace seem to be running neck-and-neck. On being associated with people who are embarrassing, it's again neck-and-neck. On people from the same party pissing and moaning about their candidate, it seems to be about even. We've got a real horserace going here. Even the polls have it virtually tied. This campaign feels a lot like swimming in a river of thick maple syrup without the sweetness.
