Today's pearl of wisdom from the bayou city

McCain say he's best qualified to deal with emergencies Chron.com - Houston Chronicle:

At the end of January, I got sick with a bad cold that lasted nearly two weeks. It finally went away in mid-February, and for the next two weeks I felt pretty good. Then last Thursday, the cold symptoms returned. Runny nose, nasal congestion, lots of sneezing and coughing, the whole nine yards. Anyway, I haven't been in a frame of mind to pontificate on any of the blogs. I started a good book called All The Flowers Are Dying by one of my favorite mystery writers, Lawrence Block. It's a recent installment in his Matthew Scudder series, and I've read several of the earlier ones. If the detective/crime thriller genre interests you, you can't do better than a Lawrence Block novel; I recommend them enthusiastically.

Anyway, I was up until 3:30 am reading this one and got about halfway through it. I'll probably go back to it after I've finished checking the latest news online.

Tim's comment above is in reaction to Hillbillary's campaign commercial, which I haven't seen personally but which is being compared to LBJ's famous anti-Goldwater ad in 1964. When all's said and done, the most appealing outcome of a Hillary Clinton win in November would be the comforting knowledge that people like TimJ07 will have their knickers in a knot for four long years. By the way, Tim, that's an interesting way to spell "terrorist."

In the disturbed minds of people like Tim, the fear never lets up: It's either illegal Mexican immigrants swarming across the border or terrirosts (sic) following our retreating brigades home from Iraq. There are lots of bogeymen out to get them and their kids. How do they stand it ?
