Update 11:35 AM Tuesday: Trey Gowdy has been out of Congress awhile, but he made a recent appearance on Fox News, and hasn't changed much since his Benghazi days. In this interview, he made an observation that fascism becomes the centrist position if enough people vote for it. I'm sure this is what passes for logic and reason among educated trumplickans, and explains how they can live with themselves.
For some reason, there's an intense debate in the media concerning bad precedents: Which sets a worse precedent, prosecuting the Waste of Shit to the full extent of the law, or letting him off with a stern lecture? For my money, the worst mistake America ever made (electing him in the first place) would be made WORST x 100,000 by letting him dance away unscathed and run in 2024 on the "failed witch hunt" platform.
