Q NOTES # 423: Courage

In a true display of courage, RepubliQan-style, Liz Cheney was booted out of her House leadership position by a voice vote, rather than an actual tabulation of yeas and nays for the record.

There are signs that this whole episode is a net positive for Democrats. First of all, Liz Cheney has support among some (R)s, and the broad that former guy has hand-picked to replace Cheney lacks support among some (R)s. There's a formula for prolonged disunity right there -- then add the fact that as Little Dick Cheney's daughter, Liz will be empowered to keep up her sharp attacks on former guy and his Big Lie. As they say, hell hath no fury like -----

One interesting theory I've read is that Liz has her eye on 2024 and perceives that former guy is already losing strength among (R) voters. After the investigators and prosecutors are done with his ass, he'll be damaged goods and Liz will be ready to lead a party that could finally be willing to admit it's had enough.

Betsy DeVos, previously the worst Secretary of Education in history, believes that former guy will play a big part in the future of the RepubliQan Party. I believe that might be possible, but probably not in the same way DeVos does.
