Who's watching? Who cares?

Conservative pod people often cite the popularity of Fox News, the big fish in the tiny pond of cable news networks, to validate their peculiar opinions as truth. Fox News has a current daily viewership of 1.8 million, with a prime time viewership of 2.8 million. Putting things in perspective, there were over 129 million votes cast in the 2012 presidential election, about 60.9 million of which went to Willard Romney.

The 2.8 million Fox News evening viewers are therefore equivalent to about 2.2 percent of the American electorate, and only about 4.6 percent of REPUBLICAN voters.

Fox News watchers are a tiny minority in this country, even among conservatives. Get over yourselves, pod people.
