Believe it or not, there are reports that some Republicans are urging Rick Perry to join their clown parade for the 2012 nomination. The last Texas governor who was elected to the presidency was an unmitigated disaster, and Perry makes W look like a Renaissance man. Anyone who thinks the roster of potential GOP candidates couldn't be any more repulsive hasn't yet been introduced to Rick Perry.
Like Don Quixote, Perry wanders around searching for windmills to conquer. Sanctuary cities and voting fraud aren't problems, but elevating those issues to the level of legislative priorities is the kind of symbolic gesture that impresses rubes who vote Republican. He'll say and do anything to stay on the public payroll, I guess.
