This article, the gist of which is summarized in the two opening paragraphs, proves once again that survival of the Republican Party depends totally upon the unbridled stupidity of the American people. As amazing as it seems, there are apparently huge numbers of potential voters who are convinced passing a law allowing offshore/ANWR drilling will promptly result in dramatic drops in the price of gasoline. I'm not an expert on anything, particularly the petroleum industry, but even I'm not that damned stupid.
