He so horny ? Maybe, maybe not.

What are we to make of this ? Politician does favors for lobbyist, may have cheated on his wife. Shit, there's a front page story if I ever saw one.

Actually, I've just started trying to piece together the report in yesterday's New York Times. This whole McCain business seems to go back nearly a decade. Sometime in 1999 ? Maybe if he was tomcattin' on his old lady last week, this might be interesting.

First of all, Walnuts was penned up for years in Saigon as a POW and we can assume most if not all those years were a prolonged period of celibacy. So maybe he's been making up for lost time ? The wife he's got now isn't the one he started with, so shopping around for female companionship is part of McCain's story. He's still at least one wife behind Rudi Gee and Rush Limbo, so cut the man some slack, okay ?

Who's behind the story ? Some say Huckabuck, some say Hillbillary, some say Barack Obama. May turn out to be The Grassy Knoll sharpshooter in the final analysis. Who knows ?

The only thing archconservatives hate more than Walnuts right now is the New York Times. Limbo (the stain in America's underwear) and other right-wing radio personalities have been lining up to take McCain's side against the so-called liberal media, which has led to speculation among some political bloggers that Walnuts may have planted the story himself (one of those "Figure out who benefits most and backtrack from there" deals).

I'll keep an eye on this, but right now it looks like your proverbial tempest in a teapot. It's already been pointed out that the GOP is pretty forgiving when its own members (not Democrats) are playing around in heterosexual relationships. Hell, Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House for crying out loud. It's that homosexual stuff that puts Repubs in a blue funk.

Tonight was the big Dem debate in Austin. I watched most of it. In the context of the debates, I can admire both Hillary and Obama and can imagine either one in the White House. Then after it's over, I start thinking again and the old misgivings return.
